More about this print: In another scene from the Chronicles of the Taiko, Saito Toshimitsu is conducting surveillance along the Kamo River near Kyoto, before the attack on the Honnoji Temple in 1582. Toshimitsu and his father Saito Kuranosuke were retainers of Akechi Mitshuide (1526-1582) who fought a treacherous war against his lord Oda Nobunaga.
