Condition: Center horizontal fold now flattened, Upper left and lower left corners repaired, 8 to 10 wormholes mainly on the right side of the print, Color fading consistent with prints from early 1800's, and a few spots of soiling. Fair overall condition.
Notes: This print belongs to a series of 10 Prints called the "Pride of Edo". This set is comparing the famous places of Edo to the women of the area. Many show a clear debt to Utamaro. In the more original designs, however, Kunisada conveys a mood and a sympathy for his subject that are unique to his work of this period.
